Abstract

Local wisdom included cultural patterns of interpretation of certain localities, pure values, and unwritten norms, which serve the social life of a community and environment to regulate. The head of the ethnic groups in the community makeup but worries that the local wisdom are in danger lost to go. This article describes the current state of local wisdom as a cultural pattern of interpretation on the Luang Island - Indonesia. In addition, the manners, customs, and traditions of the community on the island are observed and an interview with four teenagers and ahead of the community is performed. The results of the observation and the interview are then presented and analyzed. The analysis has shown the following: (a) there are several local wisdom, which the harmony of the life of the community on the Luang island and the environment build may, for example, "urgeni, te'wa, hrukwu mnyota, hlili mnyota, lyola" (b) the local wisdom has one long tradition in the community. However, this seems lost to go because of the way of life of the local population. As a result, the valuable wisdom is in a “culture shift” situation. The local wisdom should to be used in the classroom, so that students as young generation be sensitized and note taking this wisdom.

Abstract

The aim of this study is examining learning process undertaken by Klagen, Nganjuk local community in their journey to transform their rural area into a smart village ad what they need to promote their collective learning. The data are collected through two main methods: community dialogue and direct participant observations during village visits and business training, particularly for Klagen’s youth. Thematic analysis, which is grounded on empowerment steps, is performed to interpret the gathered data. Many previous studies examine the outcome of smart village, as the end product. Differently, this study aims to explore the process to develop a smart village, especially at the initial stage and presents development-community education interfaces. The study indicates that to transform their village into a smart village, Klagen community should collaboratively engage in community sharing in which they build shared vision to change, integrate ideas, thinking and social-cultural analysis, observational learning in which they learn from neighbor village model, partnership seeking in which they explore potential networking outside their village area and business-entrepreneurship learning in which the young people learn how to initiate and manage local business.

Abstract

Advances in technology makes it easier to gain access to the virtual world. This has led to more and more application and games being targeted towards the virtual world. But with the growing popularity of the virtual world, cybersickness has grown in popularity as well. This study aims to evaluate the factors affecting cybersickness in the Virtual Reality (VR) environment. There are few factors causing the effect of cybersickness in VR like duration, field of view, speed, habituation, and susceptibility of said user. Those factors affect differently in first person perspective(1pp) and third person perspective(3pp). To measure the cybersickness, a Virtual Reality Questionnaire (VRSQ) measurement index is utilized. The experiment was conducted with the following settings. The participants consisted of 20 males and 4 females who never used VR before. They performed task using short games. It consisted in total of 4 tasks (2 types of game (action and adventure) x 2 perspective (1pp and 3pp) = 4 tasks). The Latin Square design was used to minimize the effect of order. Then, a questionnaire was conducted after each treatment. Paired Dependent T-Tests was performed to check if there are differences in oculomotor, disorientation and VRSQ total score. There was a significant difference in 1pp and 3pp in both games. It is recommended to use third person perspective to reduce the cybersickness in VR environment.

Abstract

MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) is a technology used for data communication on mobile media. MANET moves and speeds also randomly with different distances between nodes. In the AODV reactive protocol, the development of a routing protocol with an ant colony model can significantly improve performance. The measurement results will impact the decision on the development of the ant colony protocol implemented in AODV to obtain the best route for data transmission. Several studies have developed the K-Means clustering method to obtain the shortest and best route from the AODV protocol. It does not measure congestion, distance, energy, and signal strength of the wireless network. In this research, a combination of methods was carried out, by combining clustering and also ant colony method to get the best route while dealing with the problems that have been mentioned. Implementation is done by modifying the AODV protocol and adding the two methods. At the end of the research, metric measurements were carried out to determine the Packet Delivery Ratio, End to End Delay and also the Average Hop Count.

Abstract

One of the strategies in order to compete in Batik MSMEs is to look at the characteristics of the customer. To make it easier to see the characteristics of customer buying behavior, it is necessary to classify customers based on similarity of characteristics using fuzzy clustering. One of the parameters that must be determined at the beginning of the fuzzy clustering method is the number of clusters. Increasing the number of clusters does not guarantee the best performance, but the right number of clusters greatly affects the performance of fuzzy clustering. So to get optimal number cluster, we can measured the result of clustering in each number cluster using the cluster validity index. From several types of cluster validity index, NPC give the best value. Optimal number cluster that obtained by the validity index is 2 and this number cluster give classify result with small variance value

Abstract

In the Indonesian language course, communication can be included in the area of speaking and writing. To carry out effective communication, the stages must be carried out, namely fact finding, planning, communicating, and evaluation. The purpose of this research is to describe the concept map of effective communication material based on powerful words. This research method uses qualitative research methods with data sources in the form of books by Erwin Parengkuan et al. entitled Talk-inc Points published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Trianto's book entitled Designing an innovative-progressive learning model published by KencanaPrenada Media Group. The data analysis carried out by researchers is as follows: (1) data reduction (2) displaying data by compiling relevant data, (3) drawing conclusions to get a meaning that scattered symptoms have deep meaning. The results of this study indicate that the use of powerful words in the preparation of effective communication materials produces a concept map for effective communication materials. Making a concept map for effective communication material becomes easier to learn and understand, that in effective communication there are four stages that must be done, namely fact finding, planning, communicating, and evaluation.
